The Close Hotel

Tea in the afternoons was a treat, with warm scones, a lovely view, and a good book. My husband and I loved staying at The Close Hotel in Tetbury. It's a beautiful, quaint place, and the hotel restaurant was amazing. Every meal we had was delicious and the service was excellent. Tetbury itself was lovely, with antique shops, bakeries, gift shops, restaurants, and more to wander around. It wasn't too touristy, which we liked, and it was easy to reach other villages for exploring. We'll definitely be back!

There's one thing to bear in mind: all the rooms are one or two flights up, and there's no elevator. Otherwise, we had a delightful few days here. Breakfast and dinner were both great, and the hotel's central spot in town made it easy to walk to lots of places. We'll return.

Lunch in the garden behind the hotel was delicious, and the personal service and care in the food presentation were incredible. The Saturday lunchtime wait staff were simply excellent. This is a real hidden gem on the high street, and I'd highly recommend it if you're in Tetbury. I'll be back for the fish and chip supper and whatever other events they're holding. Thanks!

We were given such thoughtful help, including from the manager, I think, who went out of his way to sort us a taxi to highgrove. My sister and I brought our Gran here for a trip after losing our grandad, hoping to make it special, and the hotel went beyond anything we expected. Staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, and nothing was too much trouble. The property is beautiful, right in the main part of Tetbury, so it's easy to walk everywhere. We relaxed in the large gardens with deckchairs and a water fountain after exploring, and the wait staff checked on us without being intrusive. Dinner was amazing too. Our server was chatty, helpful, and gave recommendations. I loved the decor, especially the dog themed art work around the hotel. Our room was lovely, the bed unbelievably comfy, and the bathroom decor so nice. The shower was easy to use, even for my 94 year old gran. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, with cold buffet items and hot food to order. Probably the best hotel experience I've ever had, and I travel a lot. I can't thank the team enough or recommend this place enough. Thank you!!!
