There’s a warm log fire, a good range of drinks and plenty to choose from on the menu. The homemade meals were good quality, though a little pricier than at some places. They also have peg solitaire games on the tables, and you can stay overnight in the car park in a campervan or motorhome.

There’s a good selection of cask drinks, spirits, cocktails and mocktails, and the menu has plenty of choice at reasonable prices. We ordered beef stew with horseradish dumplings and homemade cottage pie, and the food service was very good. It’s a lively pub in the centre of Tintagel, with pool, darts, slot machines and sports on TV. If you’d rather sit somewhere quieter, there are tables at the far end, as well as lots of covered outdoor seating. You order food at the bar.

A big pub and hotel with a mix of tourists and locals, plus plenty of space under the covered outdoor seating area. Dogs are welcome, and there’s a pool table, darts and screens showing sport. The cider range is wide, including Healeys Cornish Gold, and they serve Cornish beer too. Pub food is good quality with generous portions. The lamb chops are a favourite, and the pies are good as well.

The menu looked pricey for some dishes, but the portions were huge and the meal was decent. Service was very good, and the staff were friendly. They had options for gluten intolerance, which helped, and a massive drinks selection. We visited when many nearby places had stopped serving food for a few hours in the middle of the day.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and made the whole evening a pleasure. I had a delicious meal at King Arthur’s Arms, with generous portions and lots of flavour in every bite. A refreshing local ale went perfectly with it. The place feels warm and welcoming, with a charm that made me feel right at home.
