After spending our honeymoon here 35 years ago, my wife and I recently came back to Lincombe Hall Hotel & Spa for a visit just the two of us. Torquay is a long way from London, but we had a reason to return, and for a relaxing break or special occasion, the trip felt worthwhile. It’s good value too. The spa was the standout for me, genuinely five-star, with steam rooms, a pool, jacuzzi and excellent facilities. It was clean, relaxing and very well maintained. The hotel itself was welcoming and comfortable, with professional, friendly staff. Grace was especially kind and attentive at dinner, and a real credit to the hotel. Our room was spacious, comfortable and nicely presented. I would have appreciated daily vacuuming, but that’s a small thing in an otherwise enjoyable stay. I’d happily recommend this solid four-star hotel, especially for its five-star spa.

We loved our early Valentine’s treat and have already booked to come back in May for my birthday. The spa was beautiful and very clean. I had a facial and head massage and felt on cloud nine. Everyone looked after us from arrival right through to departure. The room was cosy and clean, the food was delicious, and the service was fantastic. Thank you, Lincombe Hotel ❤️

The treatments were good, and I have no complaints about them. The spa itself was clean and nicely equipped, but small, and the pool wasn’t large enough for lots of people to swim properly. We’d booked specifically for a spa break and came away underwhelmed. We also spent a long time waiting at an unattended spa reception without a welcome or any information. For the price, the room felt old and in need of care rather than luxurious, especially the shower. There was no room service. Staff were pleasant and the food was good, though the menu could use healthier, lighter choices. Afternoon tea was nice, but in my view there were too many sweets and not enough savoury options. The bed was too hard for me, and I slept badly, waking up tired and groggy instead of relaxed. We’ve paid the same for other spa breaks and had a much better experience, so this didn’t feel like good value. Parking was another £15 a night, which felt like a complete rip-off for hotel guests. We won’t be returning.

We only stayed one night, but we’re already planning to come back for two. The Signature room was spacious, and the food was great with generous portions and plenty to choose from. Drinks were reasonably priced and the spa was lovely. Staff were especially friendly and helpful. Nothing to complain about.

The only letdown was how crowded the spa got at times, with nowhere to sit and the facilities feeling overcrowded. Apart from that, it was a great stay, with excellent service, incredible food and lovely rooms. Torquay is a perfect spot for a weekend spa trip. Highly recommended.
