The spa was excellent and free for residents, and there's also a handy little shop for papers, souvenirs and the like. In January, the rooms we had were clean and basic, and the price was very good. A noisy machine outside, maybe air con, disturbed some guests at night. The lifts worked but felt clunky. The waiting staff were catering students, and they were efficient and pleasant, especially in the evening. The bars were nice too, though service slowed down at busy times.

The biggest downside was how hot the hotel was, and the lifts were tiny and very slow. Getting my nan back inside took ages because people were going down to the basement so they wouldn't have to wait, and sometimes we were left waiting ten minutes for a lift. Still, we had a lovely Tinsel and Turkey stay. The entertainment was top drawer and great fun both nights. Food was fairly basic but tasty, with a decent choice. Our room was simple, clean and comfortable. The seafront was a five-minute walk and the town centre about ten. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

“Stand by your beds” if you can 😀. Our bedroom was small, but for the money it felt like five-star value. It was clean and a little tired, while the recently revamped shower room and toilet were very good. The buffet food was excellent, with a good choice.

We ended up here because the place we'd booked had shut down, and had a lovely time. This is a cheap and cheerful hotel in a great spot, with friendly staff and reasonable prices. There is loads for families to do across the huge group of hotels, including the Aztec pool facilities, games area and entertainment. You can spot rust, leaks, dust and paintwork that looks like a blind work experience kid did it if you look closely, but we'd probably come back. 👍

Everyone we met, from reception and the dining room to the pool, entertainment team, bar and management, was welcoming, friendly and easy to approach. We had a great stay, and it's an easy walk into town. Some rooms and areas could do with development or refurbishment, but it's a really pleasant place overall. It's an old building, which I suppose is part of its charm.
