The mixed grill was actually quite excellent, but it took 45 minutes to arrive. Getting in was a hassle too: the front door was locked despite people being inside, and the side door was locked as well. I finally got in through the back entrance near the premier inn. Signs at the front pointing people that way would help, though I got the feeling they may not want non premier inn guests eating there. Nobody came to take my order, so I queued at the bar to order, then queued again later for the bill. Once I’d finished my drink, the long bar queue meant I knew my food would be cold if I went for another. Nobody checked how the food was or offered to get me another drink. Such a waste of time. I’ve had better service in a labourers' canteen than in this place pretending to be a restaurant. Sort it out!

For a budget hotel, the young blonde woman at reception gave me the warmest welcome I’ve ever had. She’s a credit to the business. My one-night stay was great, with a clean room and shower. It was quiet too, even though I was on the ground floor. The food was surprisingly good, and I recommend the chicken curry.

A lovely young woman from Liverpool on the reception team helped us switch rooms and kept checking in with us regularly. She was so pleasant and helpful, and her communication was excellent. She really went above and beyond, a credit to the team. We had a lovely stay at this Premier Inn. I’m sorry I don’t know her name.

The place was lovely, very clean, and the staff were polite. I hadn’t noticed when booking that the restaurant next door didn’t open until 5pm, so we waited for it to open before eating, then went to bed because we had an early start. No one’s to blame for that. The restaurant staff were professional, the food was excellent, and the chef deserves credit.

The room seemed recently redone to a decent standard, and the price was reasonable. Staff were welcoming, helpful, and very polite. Breakfast was good: the poached eggs, black pudding, and sausage were all nice, though the bacon was a bit thin.
