The Premier Plus room was a nice touch, and I liked the concept. Dinner and breakfast were both enjoyable, and the service was friendly. The free car park is right outside, while Merton Abbey Mills, with its restaurants and bars, Sainsbury’s and M&S are all about a two-minute walk away. The main frustration was the lift. Only one seemed to be working during my stay, and even with the hotel fairly quiet, waits were long. With several floors and lots of rooms, I can only imagine how bad it gets during Wimbledon. I often took the stairs because it was quicker. I’ll definitely come back. The hotel is consistent, and having the Premier Plus rooms helps.

Anita was a real highlight, always friendly, professional and attentive, and she made me feel welcome and looked after. The room was cosy, very clean and well maintained, with a super comfortable bed and everything I needed. The restaurant was spotless and nicely arranged. The food was fresh, and the atmosphere was calm and comfortable. The hotel itself felt organised and welcoming, and the area was quiet and convenient for transport and local shops. I had a great stay at Premier Inn Wimbledon South and would highly recommend it.

We chose this Premier Inn for its restaurant and social spaces because of mobility issues, but ended up having to find other places to eat and meet family. The restaurant food was poor. During our three-day stay, draught beer was unavailable for two days, there was no lemonade, and the only Coke was in an overpriced vending machine. The rooms were clean, though one of the sidelights was hanging down. The communal areas needed cleaning, and the whole hotel seemed understaffed and uncared for. The staff who were there were doing their best with very little to work with. One lift was out of service, causing long waits. That was particularly difficult as one person in our party had trouble standing and walking. When the lift did arrive, room cleaning staff sometimes filled it and made no effort to let customers use it. Unless things improve drastically, we’ll seriously consider staying elsewhere on our next trip to the capital.

We stayed at Premier Inn on February 14, and went down for breakfast that morning. My order was wrong, and when I politely brought it up, the two staff members, Luminita and Edyta, handled it poorly and were quite impolite. It made the meal uncomfortable and disappointing. There were also noticeable communication difficulties because their English was very broken, which made sorting out the mistake harder. I chose the hotel after reading its good reviews, so I honestly expected much better customer service.

Free parking was great, but the rest of the stay was very average compared with other places. The lift was out of action, and from reception you could only call the other lift to come down, not up to the rooms. There was a bad smell near breakfast, and most staff seemed uninterested and disorganised, though some were okay. Guests smoked cannabis during the night, and the smell made floor 4 stink. I reported it, but it wasn’t sorted until the next day. Not a brilliant experience.
