Our hosts were kind and accommodating, and we were glad they had secure storage for our bicycles. This beautiful Victorian house has incredible lake views. We enjoyed our two-night stay, especially the delicious breakfasts and the chance to chat with the hosts.

We had great cooked breakfasts, found everything very clean, and were made to feel welcome by our friendly hosts. The views over the lake are beautiful. Blenheim Lodge is in a quiet spot at the top of town, away from the crowds and close to hiking countryside. We really enjoyed our two nights there.

Breakfast was marvellous, with plenty of choice and plenty of everything. The breakfast room has a calm, relaxing feel and makes for a great start to the day. Janz and Robert think of everything to make your stay special, from the warm welcome to the tea-making facilities and bathing products that give the rooms a homely feel on arrival. The rooms are very pretty and the beds are the most comfortable and luxurious we've found. The views of the Lakes are probably the best around. Blenheim Lodge is beautiful, and we honestly wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in the area.

The peace at Blenheim Lodge was lovely, with birdsong and no traffic to disturb it. Robert and Janz were perfect hosts, and we enjoyed eating at Jacksons bistro. We spent four lovely nights there, with a comfortable bedroom, delicious breakfasts, beautiful lake views and plenty of suggestions for places to visit. We didn't take the boat trips we'd planned because the boats looked far too crowded, and having avoided Covid so far, we didn't want to take our chances. The weather was so good it felt almost Mediterranean. We climbed Brantfell through a nearby gate. It was a bit of a slog, though we're both over 80, so that wasn't a surprise, and the views from the top were wonderful.

Janz was very accommodating and took care to make Blenheim feel COVID safe, while still providing the kind of service you'd expect before the pandemic. The B&B is on a quiet cul-de-sac, away from the busy part of town, and only about a five-minute walk from the lake, shops and restaurants. I came to Bowness-on-Windermere for my first trip after lockdown and had a great stay. The room was comfortable, especially the bed. I'd definitely come back.
