We've returned a few times because the rooms are comfortable and the hosts are friendly. They think of the little things, like spare tea bags and milk and freshly ground coffee. Parking outside the guesthouse has never been a problem for us. It's also easy to walk into either Windermere or Bowness. We like choosing our own breakfast spot, and there's plenty of choice.

The owners are brilliant, and our room was really comfortable. We booked at short notice for four days over New Year and had a fantastic stay. It's well placed for getting to loads of walking trails and pretty towns, so we'll definitely come back on our next Lake District trip.

The host was very responsive whenever we had a question, and the location is great with plenty of on-street parking. The room was a bit chilly, though, and the floorboards above us creaked a lot. The bathroom and bedroom windows also didn't close tightly.

We had a great three-night stay. It's between Windermere and Bowness, so we could walk to both, even though it's not right in Windermere. There's no reception because check-in is self-service, but Steve and Victoria were quick and helpful on WhatsApp. They also helped sort out a couple of shower temperature issues.

Our room was at the top of the building, so bear in mind there's no lift if you're carrying luggage. It was clean, fresh and airy, and everything was well kept. The hosts were kind and quick to respond, and being able to check in as early as 11am was great. Wonderful rooms!
