Andreana and Amrit made organising our event much less stressful. They were responsive, professional and happy to help at every stage, and made sure things went smoothly on the day. The Orangery at Park Hall Hotel looked beautiful, with elegant decorations and a special atmosphere that came across so well in the photos. We’re really grateful and would recommend the venue and its team.

The breakfast we were promised before our early departure never made it to reception’s records. I’d explained at check-in that we needed to leave before 7, and was told five takeaway boxes would be ready. In the morning staff couldn’t find the order. The kitchen tried to put something together, but with no warning there was little they could do. Completely avoidable and unacceptable. We also booked the pool because it’s a big draw, then found out only when I phoned to confirm details that children can’t use it at any time. The website didn’t say that. We had a restaurant reservation for dinner, but when we arrived that night, they had no reservation for us. And the fire alarm went off twice during the night for no reason. I know these things can happen, but still.

The private dining room was spacious and beautifully set up for our family dinner. The food was plentiful and amazing, and the Chef even came over to check with the host that everything was satisfactory, a lovely touch. Staff were friendly, professional and very accommodating. It’s a charming Grade II listed hotel, easy to find and with ample parking. I’d happily recommend Park Hall Hotel & Spa for a special event.

The team were polite, friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed a lovely Saturday evening meal and wonderful lunch on Sunday. My grandson, who has autism, was delighted to find a smart TV in the room. My granddaughter and her friend also had fun taking lots of pictures among the beautiful decor. We came for one night for a function elsewhere, but it was cancelled at the last minute. The only letdown was our family room: we expected one double and two single beds, but got a double and a double sofa bed, which wasn’t very comfortable. We managed, and everything else was perfect. Looking forward to coming back, without the double sofa bed this time.

Breakfast was a mess. We’d paid for it, but food kept running out and guests waited a long time for refills, with one chef apparently handling the whole buffet. The service felt badly organised. Both nights of our stay were also disturbed by very loud wedding or event music. We could make out every word of the songs from our room, so sleep was almost impossible. There’d been no clear warning when we booked that regular events with amplified music would affect rooms like this. If we’d known, we wouldn’t have stayed. It doesn’t fit the hotel’s “tranquil spa” branding. On the second night, two fire alarms went off and guests evacuated in confusion and panic. Reception staff were dismissive, rude and unapologetic. They claimed we’d been told about the events, which we hadn’t, and seemed shockingly indifferent about the alarms. There was no reassurance or sense that guest comfort or safety mattered. This was noisy and chaotic, not a relaxing spa break. If you want peace and quiet, I’d strongly suggest reconsidering.
