Rodeway Inn East Albuquerque

The advertised free breakfast isn't offered at all. The sheets had holes, the walls were damaged, and this was far worse than any other hotel I've seen at this price. There are plenty of nearby options that are almost certainly a better value. We booked because we needed a non-smoking room, but ours still smelled of smoke. Prices were much higher than the online ads suggested, and credit card fees only partly explained the difference. The office closes at 7 PM, so late arrivals have to wait around half an hour for someone to return and check them in. It doesn't open until 8 AM either, and staff showed up another half hour late, so you're likely stuck waiting to make sure checkout gets processed.

The staff were courteous, and the place seems to be getting upgrades. Our beds and linens were clean, and the room was acceptable overall. The chairs and bedspread had cigarette burns, which was off-putting, and the air conditioner didn't work. Still, it gave me a place to sleep, so I can't complain too much.

Really appreciated the stay, thank you! I'm a disabled man, and the staff at the roadway and the suburban helped me and my family with everything. They brought towels and were quick to respond. The front desk was very courteous, and so were the rest of the staff, right through to the maids. It was a beautiful stay.

After all that, they still refused to give me a refund. It's an affordable hotel, but they should at least provide a clean room and a working toilet. When we finally got into another room, the comforter was covered in cigarette burns. The first room's key didn't work, and security had to let us in with a master key. Someone was definitely already inside. Security called management and took us to another room, which luckily was empty. We arrived at 11:30 PM and waited about 35 minutes for security because no one was at the front desk. The toilet in the second room didn't work either. We were so exhausted by then that we just pushed through. Stay away!
