Travelodge by Wyndham Albuquerque West

The woman on staff was so friendly and professional, which was easily the best part of our stay. The room itself had suspicious stains all over, a sticky, neglected floor, and old furniture and equipment. At this price it works for a short stay, but we wouldn't come back, even with such a welcoming staff.

The front desk woman was pleasant, and I had no issue with her, but this stay was too much. I arrived to a dirty sheet and pillowcase, then in the morning a staff member opened my door while I was naked, even after I yelled “just a minute” several times. By the bathroom sink there was what looked like dried vomit or food up the wall and onto the ceiling. The woman said they can't hear guests when they knock and that she'd speak to him. I appreciate that, but if they can't hear someone yelling through the door, what good is knocking?

For $50 a night, I guess you get what you pay for. The room smelled like cigarettes, the tub had stains, and the shower curtain rings were missing. The bed had a sheet and light blanket, while the top “cover” was basically a window curtain. They did bring fresh towels and take out the trash every day, but that was about it. The door says one checkout time, but I was told 11, which was confusing. The neighborhood didn't seem great, traffic noise was constant, and police kept patrolling. The air conditioner also made a noise every time it kicked on.

The beds were comfortable and it was very quiet, with the freeway just off to the side. Rates were very low. The hotel is being remodeled as an IHG property, and our room on the third floor looked like that floor was finished. The remote didn't work, there was no hand soap, and the bathroom was tiny. Fine for one night, or one person.
