Liberty Tower Apartments

I can't wait for my lease to end so I can leave. Hot water in the building goes out for days every few months, which is ridiculous for this rent. Maintenance also seems to come into our apartment about every other week for building-wide changes or renovations, even though my unit has already been renovated. It barely feels like my own place anymore. They announce a schedule for the work, then don't stick to it. I can hardly recommend living here less.

I rented at Liberty Tower for years, but my satisfaction with the property dropped sharply in the last two. I'm using a name that isn't mine because I don't want a response from Liberty Tower. I want future residents to have honest feedback. There are recurring building problems everywhere. The elevators break constantly, leaving just one during busy commute times, and the building never has hot water. Dryers build up so much dust that it gets all over your apartment; when I asked, I was told the fans are all broken and keep breaking. The rooftop pool leaked into apartments while I lived there. I dealt with water damage several times, and hallways were often full of equipment for repairs. Renovation drilling during the workday was so loud it gave me a headache and forced me to leave, which was especially awful when I was home sick. Door handles around the property keep falling off, and I once got stuck in the mail room. The hall to the Courtyard constantly smelled like roasting trash. The courtyard and loading dock have rats despite the pest fee. Rent went up $600 when my lease ended. I have photos, including one of a dead rat, and a whole album called Liberty Tower Property Damage documenting issues I saw in shared areas or experienced in my apartment. These are only some examples.

I lived there for two years and moved out in 2021. Things were fine until my road bike was stolen from the locked storage area at the bottom of the parking garage. There are no cameras there, they don't track who has keys, and they couldn't even say who had access. They also wouldn't help reimburse the loss. Live there at your own risk.

Liberty Towers is a pleasant place to live, with a clean environment, quiet neighbors, and very nice modern amenities. The maintenance crew is especially good. I'm grateful to Hugo, the maintenance engineer, who usually comes the next day after I submit a request, sometimes the same day. He's thorough, leaves the area clean, and answers questions. Maintenance and janitorial staff are always smiling and say hello when you see them. Not many apartments have it this good.
