The property still felt open to trespassers despite the “No Trespassing” signs and exterior cameras. Nearby properties had fences and gates, but this one didn’t. After we’d been there a couple of days without trouble, we woke one morning to find someone sleeping at the bottom of the stairs we use to get in and out. Our car was parked there too, and we felt very unsafe. The police, county sheriff, and fire department representative eventually came to deal with it. I contacted the host, but it took three hours to get a reply. We were so shaken by what happened that we left two days before checkout. I asked for a refund for one of those nights, but the request was denied right away. When I tried to explain, they stopped responding despite several follow-ups. I’d read beforehand about the homeless people gathering across the street, and that hadn’t bothered us at first.

We’d probably stay here again when we’re back in Asheville. It’s a good value, and the apartment was really nice. The two-bedroom unit was modern, well equipped, very clean, and comfortable, with new appliances. Downtown restaurants were a fairly short walk away. We had a few snags: music from another rental stopped after we called the owner, who promptly texted someone. There’s a homeless kitchen or shelter across the street, and the parking spaces are small. One tenant’s large truck took up two spots, but we found two extra spaces after getting into the unit, so that worked out.

The single bathroom was a little inconvenient at times, but we managed. The apartment itself was in impeccable shape and seemed to have been recently remodeled with good taste. Downtown Asheville and the arena are an easy walk away. Just be aware that some people may not like having a soup kitchen for homeless folks across the street, and the area can get messy.

Easy to get downtown, and the place was cozy and wonderfully clean. The layout had some odd angles, but they weren’t unpleasant. I’d book it again, 10/10.

Tucked away at the far end of town, this place is a hidden beauty. The interiors are gorgeous and spacious, with lush gardens outside.
