The sun parlor quickly became our favorite place to spend time. It has a cozy coffee and tea bar and a variety of games, just right for relaxing and reconnecting. We also loved the twin soaking tubs, a romantic touch and a lovely way to unwind together. There was no TV in the room, which meant we could enjoy uninterrupted time together. The hotel is quiet, intimate, and full of character, a memorable break from everyday life. From the moment we arrived at the Peerless historic hotel, we felt transported to a gentler, more charming era while still having the comforts we wanted.

The Peerless Hotel is a real historic gem with so much character. There are no staff on site, which adds to the private feel and atmosphere. It's a unique experience you won't find anywhere else in Ashland. Stay here, you won't regret it.

Room 2 was almost a four-star stay because people upstairs woke us both nights walking around. We couldn't hear them talking, but the floorboards squeaked badly. Once the noise died down, though, we slept like babies. This is a historic hotel with museum-quality character and loads of ambiance, so the squeaky floors come with the place. If you like historic hotels and lodges, book it. We might choose a second-floor room next time, though the stairs are narrow and steep, with no elevator. It's not one of those cookie-cutter modern hotels with 7-11 lighting, which apparently was what the three-star reviewer wanted. She also wanted the room code to match the front door code. Yikes. And who wants a front desk person asking for your driver's license, credit card, and license plate after a long day on the road, when all you want is to get to your room? Great stay!

We’re really glad we stayed at The Peerless Hotel. It’s a beautiful historic place, with elegant decor and a comfortable, well-equipped room. The location made it a great base in Ashland, and I’d happily recommend it to other travelers.

The historic feel and modern conveniences made this a memorable stay, and check-in was effortless. We were welcomed with sparkling wine, and the suite’s two soaking tubs made the visit feel especially romantic. It was easy to explore Ashland on foot, with nearby amenities and free parking. We paid a small fee for late checkout and thought it was worth it. We didn’t spot the child ghost said to wander the halls at night, maybe next time. There’s also a historic mailbox set into the brick exterior: drop in a postcard and the hotel will stamp and mail it for you. We’d love to come back.
