The room and hotel were clean, and the staff were all friendly and great. The shower pressure was excellent. I liked the shampoo, conditioner, and soap so much that I ordered some on Amazon after getting home. Breakfast was good, and the room was a great deal, $80 less than nearby Duluth. I'll definitely stay here again.

For under $100 a night, this was a surprisingly nice place, and the cheapest hotel in Ashland. The staff were pleasant, the beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows, and the rooms were carpeted except for the bathroom. There are four floors, a small gym, warm breakfast included, optional housekeeping, a microwave, and a mini fridge. The little marketplace also has small items and vending machine goods. It had what I needed for a one-night stop or a longer stay.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly, but the stay was a disappointment for $275 a night. The old bed was uncomfortable, and breakfast wasn't adequate. I love this area, but visiting is getting harder. My idea of a quick day trip to explore the islands, stay overnight, and head home in the morning ended up costing well over $500.

The staff were efficient and helpful, and the location was convenient. Still, a quiet night's sleep is the main reason I book a hotel, and this place didn't deliver. The units in the rooms and hallways each run their own heating and air conditioning. I don't like that setup, though I know it's common. When other units ran, they made a low drone and vibration throughout the building that kept me awake. I set ours high enough that it stayed off all night, but the other units still turned on at different times. I was surprised they hadn't installed central air, though I suppose this was the cheapest route. I also don't want to hear someone coughing in the next room. For an upscale hotel, I don't expect polyester sheets. I usually bring my own to avoid how polyester traps heat, but forgot them this time. Given the price, I'd just stay at a Super 8 or AmericInn.
