Fairfield Inn & Suites Athens I-65

Jareece was so kind and sweet, and she really went out of her way to make things easier for us. She found a rollaway bed for our son so he wouldn’t have to sleep on the floor. We really appreciate all your help, Jareece. I hope your manager knows what a great job you do.

The room was clean, and breakfast was good, although the toaster didn't work. Still, I wouldn't recommend this place. We asked for a top floor room and got a lower one, where upstairs neighbors stomped around early in the morning. The cleaning crew kept banging around in the closet next to us, too, waking us hours before our 5:30 alarm and making it hard to work. At checkout, the desk staff focused on the cleaning crew and barely greeted us. The Wi-Fi was poor, and even the front desk seemed to have to do everything on paper. The room itself felt odd, with decor unlike the usual current Fairfield style and uncomfortable chairs at the desk and in the corner. It seemed like another hotel had been taken over, even though the lobby looked like Fairfield. A bathroom bulb was out. We're Marriott members and stay at these properties about every other week. The price was good, but you can pay less and do better. There are other options down the road.

We’ve stayed at this Fairfield Marriott three times and have never been disappointed. As a loyal Marriott traveler, I look for one along our route, and this property offers great value for the price. It's well maintained, with clean rooms, a convenient location, and a safe, well-lit parking lot. There's also a Tesla charging station for electric cars. Breakfast is included, with eggs, sausage, ready-made sandwiches, cereal, and other things to get you going in the morning.

Check-in was easy, the lobby was nice, and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds. The location is convenient, and the shower had decent water pressure, though there was no vent fan. Breakfast let me down. The food area was messy, and even though it wasn't busy, staff weren't keeping up with food and supplies. The orange juice was unusually diluted, despite its dark orange color. The biscuits and gravy tasted like flour and didn't meet the standard I've found at other hotels. I did like having plenty of oatmeal toppings.
