Doubletree by Hilton Bloomington - Minneapolis South

The airport shuttle made getting around very easy, and both drivers were great. I also really enjoyed my meal in the lounge. At the hotel, Khadara welcomed me with a smile, handled check-in, and patiently answered my questions about the Wi-Fi and other things at the Doubletree. My room was clean and nicely furnished, and checkout went smoothly. I booked at a discounted rate through Expidia and had a wonderful stay. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the Minneapolis area.

The kids had a great time in the pool and playing volleyball in the big open area, and the front desk and breakfast teams were pleasant and welcoming. We stay here often and usually have a wonderful time, but this visit was a different story. Our poolside room had dust all over it from the remodel work nearby. I understand the work was going on, but I wish we'd been told about the dirty tables and floors so we could choose a room on another floor. There were also ants all over sticky residue, maybe syrup, on the tub, floor, and counters. They moved us to another room without any questions, but that bathroom had used tissues by the sink and a worn-out rag on the floor. The rooms really weren't up to par this time.

The staff made our latest visit especially good. Brad in the restaurant was great, and Adam at the front desk kept bringing cookies for me and my kids. Everyone was helpful and friendly, and I'd come back if we have another chance. We've stayed twice for hockey tournaments. There's lots of food nearby, including fast food next door, and the hotel has a shuttle to MSP. It seems to be one of the few nearby places with free parking. Our oversized King had lots of space for our hockey bags to air out. The pool area has two pools and a large open space for floor hockey or for kids to play when it isn't being used for a banquet. Breakfast isn't huge, but the hot and cold choices are delicious.

Adam at the front desk made my stay. He was attentive, helpful, and seemed to really care that everything was handled. His bubbly manner and sense of humor made each interaction feel warm and fun. You don't often meet someone who leaves such a good impression. I hope the hotel knows what an asset he is.
