I was there last week with my 10 year old daughter for her volleyball tournament. We arrived around 9 pm and immediately found that the heater wasn’t working. The room phone didn’t work either, so I told the front desk. They said a technician was on the way. An hour later, after my daughter had gotten ready for bed, I went back downstairs and they moved us to another room. She’d left her Beats headphones in the nightstand drawer of the first room, where I had put them as we usually do. We noticed in the morning while heading to the tournament, and I told the front desk we’d return to pick them up. When I came back, they said they hadn’t found any headphones. I was sure I’d put them in that drawer, and told them I thought they’d been stolen. The main manager said he’d talk to lead housekeeping, but to this day I haven’t gotten a phone call from anybody. Beware of this hotel. They will steal your belongings.

The location is the one good thing, since it’s central and right outside Faneuil Hall. The drumming and nightlife are loud, though that’s a downside of the location and not the hotel’s fault. The front desk staff were rude and forgetful. I only got a smile from the luggage man, and when I asked for a bathrobe, the desk clerk passed it to someone else but gave them the wrong room number. Our standard double room was dusty and run down. The balcony door lock barely worked, which is inexcusable with small children in the room. The tub fixtures were coming off, and the property’s only ice machine, on the third floor, didn’t work properly. I’ll pay less for a nicer hotel next time and won’t stay here again.

I paid in full well ahead of my February 27 to March 1, 2026 stay, and the confirmation they sent was unreadable computer code. The room rate was similar to others in the area, but the charges were ridiculous: $30 per night in fees and a $100 per night hold. They deduct the fees from that hold, so five nights meant a $500 hold. The room was dated, with a strange tub set against the wall that left little shower space. The kick boards and shelves were dirty, and after a long flight I found body odor on the pillowcases. There was no complimentary bottled water, and the refrigerator didn’t work. I doubt it ever did. Even the bathroom soap was worse than what I’ve seen in gas station bathrooms. Room service costs a small loan, and the menu isn’t good. A breakfast sandwich is $18, then there are more charges to bring it to the room and a tray fee. Stay outside downtown Boston and you can avoid fees. DoubleTree at least gives you a free cookie. This was a dirty, below average stay, nowhere near the Park Plaza. I felt taken advantage of. First and last time at this or any Millennium hotel!

The location is fantastic, just steps from the north end, and the room was cozy with an updated bathroom. We also got a complimentary upgrade, and the woman at the front desk was lovely. The walls were torn in places and the carpet was old, though. I left a separate review about the restaurant, and that whole situation really got under our skin. We booked a winter getaway but didn’t get all the promised perks: a Dunkin gift card, robes, and slippers. My husband had to request the robes and slippers, and the manager wasn’t “around,” so we never got the gift card. There was no creamer, sugar, or water for the in-room coffee, and no complimentary morning coffee either. The hotel earns only two stars for service because of those missing extras. The gym is small and hard to find, and there’s no free coffee in the lobby. The $30 resort fee got us only a few water bottles. At other boutique hotels in Ogunquit and Mystic, destination or resort fees came with hot coffee, champagne on arrival, afternoon cookies, pools, and a hot tub. For the prices here and that fee, people might want to consider elsewhere. The hotel could offer more for the charge if it wants to attract people staying near the north end and Faniel Hall.

My room was spacious and comfortable, but the king bed was hard as wood. This hotel seems to be in transition, though the location near Fanueil Hall and Quincy Market is good. The North 26 layout is nice, but breakfast service was only passable. My mini bar was empty, with no snacks or drinks. Even after they handed me a page at check-in explaining it, I couldn’t make sense of the $30 daily "destination fee".
