What makes this place appealing is how close it is to Symphony Hall, Fenway Park, Berklee College of Music, shops, restaurants, and other things to do. I could walk to plenty of places, and it’s a nice alternative to the many regular hotels nearby. The rooms are cozy, and breakfast each morning was quite nice. It has more of a historic look than a typical hotel, and the building blends into a row of connected apartment-style homes. It can be tricky to spot since there’s no big sign, but Google Maps got me there once I had the address. Getting there with a car is the main drawback. Street parking is difficult, there isn’t an easy entrance, and carrying luggage up from the sidewalk is a bit of a task. It’s not very accessible for people with disabilities, so a drop-off or pickup is best. Aside from that, I’d definitely recommend it.

A real gem, especially in a city as expensive as Boston. The room was very reasonably priced, and having coffee and breakfast in the house was a lovely bonus. Oasis feels cozy and safe, with friendly staff, a great location, and lots of thoughtful little details. It was also very clean.

The owner needs help. He threatened to kick me out, and an employee who had been nice at first then tried to make it seem like the situation was my fault. That was some of the worst customer service I’ve ever had at any place I’ve stayed, and I wouldn’t recommend it regardless of the location or price. People often mention that it’s fairly close to Fenway Park or relatively affordable. You can check the poor reviews on Google and other review sites too, but from my experience the man running the place is not a good person.

The team handled a small booking issue after checkout in a thoughtful, professional way, and I left feeling well looked after. During the stay, staff were courteous and gave reasonable support. Breakfast was basic but clean and hygienic. The rooms are on the small side, and there’s no elevator, which can make luggage awkward. They’re upfront about that, though, and send clear instructions in advance, including how to use the lockbox for a late-night check-in, so nothing came as a surprise. The location is a standout, right in the heart of Boston, and the price is very reasonable compared with nearby places. I had a very good stay and would recommend it if you want a straightforward, well-located place.

I booked Oasis but ended up staying at Adams, one of two guest houses under the same management, just a few doors apart. It was spotless and well cared for, and the decor showed some taste. Breakfast was a nice extra. My room was one of the cheapest options, with a double bed and a shared bathroom. There was only about three feet of extra width and four feet of extra length beyond the bed, so it was adequate for one person, not luxurious. Bigger suites might be. I registered late for a large meeting, when the conference hotels were over $600, and this cost a quarter as much. The location worked really well, between Berklee College of Music and the Hynes convention center. If the low price makes you unsure, I’d stay here again when attending an event at the Hynes Center.
