Red Roof Inn Bristol

We stayed because we have a dog, but the hassle just wasn’t worth it. The room keys stopped working, the room wasn’t clean, there was trash behind the bed, and the sheets weren’t clean either. They kept our deposit, as if two senior citizens had left the room dirty. I’ve stayed at plenty of RR Inns, and this wasn’t a good experience.

The two beds were soft but very springy, and the pillows were comfortable enough. The desk service was decent, but the lobby was tiny. There was no breakfast or coffee except for the little half-cup coffee maker in the room. The room had a peeling chair, a dead bug, and a hair dryer that seemed to be smoking. The bathroom towels were rough, and the shampoo and body wash in the shower were empty and needed refilling. I’d give it 2.5 out of 5, and this was my first and last time here. I’ll pick Red Roof Plus + next time. I’ve stayed at much better Red Roof Inns in FL, GA, TN, NC, and even here in VA.

We just needed a quick stop while driving from new hampshire to tennessee. The room was clean and okay for a night after a 13-hour drive, but there was road noise on our side of the building. The lobby looked dingy and bugs were crawling on a table. The clerk was sitting there and didn’t greet us right away. We’d prepaid online and knew about the $50 refundable damage deposit. After taking nearly ten minutes to find our reservation, the clerk swiped our card for what we thought was the deposit, but charged us for the room again. He said he couldn’t find the “virtual credit card” used by the third party. I showed him our confirmation and payment, and he said we’d paid a little more for the deposit and it should come back in about four days. We asked him to reverse the duplicate charge and take the $50 deposit instead, but he said it would refund automatically. When we asked for a manager, he said the manager, who was also the owner, was in India and unavailable. We asked for the owner’s contact details and requested our money back. He said he couldn’t do that until the 3 am night audit. We said that was fine, and then he asked whether cash back would be okay. We preferred to cancel the card transaction. He eventually canceled it and didn’t charge a deposit. He was polite enough and thanked us for being patient. The coffee in the morning was lukewarm. We’ve stayed at Red Roof Inns in California, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere, and those were all much nicer.
