La Copa Inn Brownsville

The location is very convenient, and the lobby staff handle things efficiently. The price is fair, and my stays have always been adequate. Rooms are generally satisfactorily clean, with only rare exceptions. The flat screens have cable TV, and the air conditioning works great. I'd recommend it.

The bed was comfortable and the room was okay, but it wasn't fully clean. Long black hairs were scattered around, and neither my spouse nor I could have left them: I have red hair and my spouse's hair is very short. The pillows weren't great either. The place needs updating, especially the bathrooms.

I was working as a traveler at Brownsville Medical Center during Covid and booked the weekly special for a really good price. I only lasted a month because the service was so bad, and spent the rest of my agency stipend on Airbnbs. The last straw was when my husband planned to fly in for three days. The woman told me no visitors, which I believe is against the law, especially after I'd paid a month in advance. Other rooms had homeless people with Walmart carts outside, and multiple women sneaking in at night, but a healthcare worker who was fighting Covid couldn't have her husband visit. The woman often brought bedsheets 24 hours late. Her excuse was that she'd brought her kids and couldn't leave the front desk, lol. At the office, the door was locked every day, with 3-5 kids roaming behind the desk, and she only answered through a small window. Some bedsheets had hairs, though thankfully no bugs. I was given one towel for the whole month and had to ask for more several times. Those never arrived on time either, just the next day, with the same excuse for her poor work.

Clean room, working AC and TV, a clean bathroom, and a big bed. Really nice place. I'd definitely come back.
