WoodSpring Suites Chicago Midway

The rooms are decent, but the service was horrible. I arrived around 2 a.m. and had left my key in the room. I tried the room phone and then the after-hours number on my own phone, but got no answer either way. I couldn't get a replacement key because nobody at the front desk was available, so even though I'd paid for a room, I couldn't stay in it. I had to buy another room down the street just to have somewhere to sleep. What's the point of having front desk staff if no one's there when you need help?

There's a lot nearby, including stores and restaurants, so you can find just about what you want in the area. I've stayed here several times, and the experience has been somewhat okay. On my first stay, people shouted in the hall at night while we were trying to sleep, and someone above my room kept making noise until 3 a.m., which was rude. I was also told I couldn't cook in the room because the smoke detectors were sensitive and cooking wasn't recommended. Being able to cook meals was the main reason I booked there.

I stayed from January 25th to February 2nd, and nobody came to clean the room. There was no shampoo or conditioner, and no water boiler or tea bags. The furniture wasn't in good shape. Dogs could be heard day and night, and men and women walked around talking loudly on their phones at night. I don't know what else there is to say about this place.

The photos made the room look nice, but when I got inside it felt sketchy. It wasn't the nicest room, though they had tried to make it clean. I moved a pillow and found a bed bug, so I grabbed my stuff and left right away.
