Best Western Cambridge

Kassie at the front desk was so nice, she’s an asset. We spent three nights there, though the cleanliness could have been better: the shower floor was visibly dirty and needed scrubbing. The mattress was decent, but the linens and pillows felt cheap. Breakfast was a big letdown. Staff weren’t keeping the area wiped down and refilled, and we had to ask for more coffee. The woman seemed bothered by the request. Bananas would have been nice.

Room 214 needs new caulk because there’s mold in the shower. Breakfast was the usual hotel spread of eggs, sausage, and potatoes. The gym’s dumbbells were a plus, though the elliptical made a strange noise. An okay stay overall.

The front desk guy was so kind and friendly when we arrived. We got there later than planned on our road trip, and I’d been stressed after seeing that many nearby hotels had bedbug reviews or wouldn’t take cats. I’m used to lots of Best Westerns turning away pets and cats, so I was relieved they accepted ours. The hotel was clean and reasonably up to date, the AC worked well, and the shower had perfect pressure and heat. The room was well soundproofed too. I swear I couldn’t hear anyone outside it. We got what we needed to rest our tired heads, for a great price: $99 with tax and a $35 pet fee. Similar hotels with the same level of cleanliness charge $50-75 for pets. There’s a reason this place has the highest ratings in the area.

They’re clearly trying, and for a discounted place you may be happy enough. As of 2025, it was clean enough, but the pool was closed in July and the coffee machine had stopped working. The front doors didn’t open and close properly, so the whole place felt muggy. Give it a shot if a lower price is what you’re after.
