For this area, the price is by far the best value. It’s usually about half what the Hilton across the street costs, with rooms of the same quality, and better than the similarly priced Marriott courtyard nearby. Breakfast isn’t great, but at this price I can’t complain. I also didn’t realize you have to request room service. The gym is tiny, though it has barbells up to 50 lbs and a bench, enough for some basic exercises.

The location worked really well for me, close to The Pruneyard, an easy walk to downtown Campbell, and with a creek trail behind the hotel that’s great for morning walks. The room was comfortable and the staff welcoming. Jackie made the stay especially easy by smoothly combining my three reservations for a two-week stay at TownePlace Suites by Marriott. As a loyal Marriott guest with more than 400 nights across the brand in the past decade, I’ve never dealt with a hotel that seemed so dishonest. This felt like a pattern of staff giving false assurances to avoid doing their jobs, not just poor service. Do NOT trust what the staff tells you. Twice, on separate nights, I asked the front desk for housekeeping. Each agent looked me in the eye, confirmed it was scheduled, and promised it would be handled. Both times I came back to a room that hadn’t been touched. It seems they have no way to follow up on requests and just tell guests what they want to hear so they’ll leave the desk. I stayed four nights and needed the bill split between two cards for business reimbursement. For four days I was told to come back later, or that they didn’t know how. On Day 3, they flat-out said the split had been authorized and settled. At checkout, the folio was still wrong. The morning agent said it could be fixed if I called that evening. When I called from across the country, the evening staff said the morning agent didn’t know what she was talking about, and nothing could be done unless I was physically at the hotel. For a business traveler relying on accurate billing and basic promised services, this TownePlace Suites is a liability. The front desk will tell you what you want to hear with no intention of following through.

I’ve brought my family here for years around Christmas to visit friends. It’s a no-frills place, and I agree with the positive reviews. But this weekend the coffee kept getting cold because whoever made it would walk away and leave it. The coffee was cold at breakfast this morning. When I went to get another cup just now, the carafe was missing. It was sitting open in the service room by the coffee brewer, cooling down. I closed it to keep the coffee hot, but couldn’t find the pump, so I left with a cup of decaf.
