Econo Lodge Canton

The General Manager is professional, kind, and focused on customers. The staff are friendly, the place is very clean, and breakfast is nice. Restaurants and stores are right along the strip, and it’s a great location. I’d recommend it for an emergency stop or an overnight stay.

The room was dirty when we arrived, with trash left in different spots. We’d booked a king room with a sofa bed, but there was a full bed where the couch should’ve been. That was manageable, but we’d counted on having a place to sit. The king bed was extremely hard. The price was about the only good part, though I expect a clean room at any price. Be aware that they hold more than the room cost for a deposit, then take a long time to return it. Our $75 room led to a charge of almost $200, and after four days we were still waiting for the credit. The location was somewhat all right, just off the highway, but we had problems everywhere we went in Canton MS.

After a 16-hour drive, all we wanted was a comfortable bed and a good shower, and this motel delivered both. The room was large, with a mini fridge and microwave, and the water pressure was excellent. We also felt safer seeing the large security screen at the front desk showing cameras around the building. Breakfast was a nice little continental spread of muffins, toast, cereal, and fruit. The staff made a big difference. Both men at the desk were so friendly and even helped open the door for us when we arrived. We’ve paid twice as much at other hotels and gotten terrible service, so this place was well worth the money. We’d booked Super 8 down the road first, but after our long drive we found our reservation was messed up. They wouldn’t help and told us to wait until the manager arrived at 8 the next morning, leaving us to pay twice for a room or sleep in the car. We won’t book there again. It was such a relief to find Econo Lodge nearby, where the kind, caring staff turned our troubled trip around. We had a great stay and would happily return.
