You get what you pay for, I guess. This place is nasty.

The room was filthy, with hairs on the linens and in the bathroom, and the lock was broken. The Wi-Fi was down with no warning. Outside, there were people standing around, and neither the location nor the hotel felt safe to me. It was late, so I checked in anyway, but the photos online were not of this hotel. They also wanted a surprise $50 cash deposit that hadn’t been mentioned when I booked. When I raised my concerns at reception, the staff were rude and wouldn’t refund me, even though I didn’t stay. A terrible place.

The smell in the lobby was overpowering, and my 10-year-old daughter immediately said she felt nauseous. The third-floor hallway smelled of smoke, too. The photos don’t accurately show what the property looks like. At the front desk, the woman took her time helping the guest ahead of me, didn’t acknowledge me, then walked off with them. The service was already unacceptable. I contacted Hotels.com to ask for a cancellation, and they reached out to the hotel for me. The front desk girl refused to cancel the reservation or give me a refund, and was openly hostile. She accused me of lying to Hotels.com. I worked in hotels for 5 to 6 years, and we never refused a refund to someone who arrived and chose not to stay. Anyone with basic customer service training knows not to inflame a situation. She couldn’t de-escalate and seemed to provoke an argument instead. I booked a room for today and was horrified when I arrived. I usually make a TikTok video to expose places to my HUGE Michigan audience online, and I still might. Please believe ALL the negative reviews from the unhappy guests below, every one of them. Refunding a guest who arrives unhappy and doesn’t want to stay is the bare minimum, and they wouldn’t even do that.
