Homewood Suites by Hilton Cape Canaveral-Cocoa Beach

They let me check in early and stay late, which made our plans so much easier. The service was really good, and breakfast was very good too, with good coffee. There was a strange electrical issue in the room: we couldn’t use the bathroom lights unless the living room lights were on. That meant either peeing in the dark or waking the kids. I’m still giving five stars because the hotel did better than expected in other ways.

Amanda at the front desk was absolutely amazing: respectful, knowledgeable, and focused on helping guests. She handled our room change too, and even got us a bigger room. She should be teaching customer service classes for Hilton Hotels. The rooms, though, were awful. Both smelled like pets that hadn’t been bathed in ages, and they were dusty and dingy. The hotel is old, with a huge, noisy unit under the window controlling the temperature. It didn’t work in our first room, so we had to move. I don’t understand the great reviews, especially if you don’t regularly live with pets. The place needs to be gutted and remodeled. We’re here for one night before boarding our Christmas cruise in the morning, but the stink is keeping me awake. I hope I can get some sleep.

I had trouble with my card at check-in, and Amanda did everything she could to sort it out. She was absolutely wonderful, and I really appreciate her help. My experience has been issue-free despite the most recent review. The rooms are spacious, clean, and excellent, and the pool, tiki bar, and general atmosphere are phenomenal for such a low price. A stay at the westgate resort or raddison up the road would cost more and, in my opinion, offer an equal experience aside from a few extras. I love this place.

We’ll definitely come back before a cruise. The location near the Disney cruise terminal was great, the staff were all friendly, and everything was clean and well maintained.
