Periwinkle Inn

We loved our quick Cape May trip and wouldn't choose anywhere but Periwinkle. The staff were super friendly, and the rooms were clean. It's close enough that everything is walkable, but far enough from the nightlife to feel peaceful. Just a perfect little stay.

The staff were very friendly, and our balcony looked over the well-kept pool and recreation area, with corn hole and shuffleboard. There were plenty of lounge chairs for dining. The room was in good shape and decently appointed, too. Best of all, the beach is only steps away, with restaurants and shops an easy walk from here.

The Periwinkle means a lot to us. I proposed to my wife on the beach outside the hotel seven years ago, and this little slice of heaven will always be special. The Milano’s love staying here and are looking forward to many more visits to beautiful Cape May, our happy place. Room 212 is always comfortable and clean, just as we request each time. Everything about our stays has been perfect.

We mostly just slept in the room, so we managed without running the air conditioner. With asthma, though, I could tell it smelled moldy when switched on. A light showed spots inside the unit, and the opening clearly needed a wipe down. The other disappointment was the pool. Seagulls were swimming and leaving droppings around the side and in the water. The fake owls strapped to the fence made it seem like this was already a known problem, and we felt awful telling the kids they couldn't swim when that was a big part of what we'd looked forward to. Even with those issues, the rooms were insanely clean and comfortable, and the stay was wonderful otherwise. They're cute rooms, and I'd still suggest them. We just dealt with it, but it would be worth telling staff about these problems.
