John Wesley Inn & Carriage House

For my mom's 60th birthday, I rented one of the carriage house apartments, and the place exceeded what I'd hoped for. It was charming, up to date, and really spacious. My mom and I loved our stay. Downtown Cape May was under a 10-minute walk away, so we didn't have to drive in for dinner or shopping. I highly recommend it.

Just to be clear, I stayed in the John Wesley Inn apartments, not the bed and breakfast. They don't seem to be listed separately on Google. The location is fantastic, the rooms are modern, and there's plenty of space. The staff were friendly, and ask them about the car collection. We booked a two-bedroom apartment, but the rooms were separated only by a double-pocket door, and there was no direct way from the common area to the second bedroom. You have to go through the first bedroom or the bathroom. Staff told us before we booked, though it isn't advertised, so we knew the setup. It's just not ideal. The price was fair for similar places. Parking costs extra, but parking is an issue everywhere in Cape May. There's quick beach access and beautiful amenities. I'd happily recommend John Wesley Inn Apartments. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could, so I rounded up.

After five days at the John Wesley Inn, we're home and already looking forward to coming back. It's our favorite place in Cape May, and we've stayed there for 10 years without ever being disappointed. The room is always clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is so good. This time we brought my mother, who had a great time and loved it. Special thanks to Bonnie, Lance, and their staff for always making our stays special, especially for making Mom feel so welcome. The beach is just half a block away, and you can walk everywhere. Parking is free, and they even provide beach chairs, towels, and a small cooler. Our room was beautiful, and the front porch rockers were especially nice with afternoon tea and homemade cookies. Breakfast was lovely too, and Bonnie-Lynn, the innkeeper, was a very gracious hostess. A wonderful B&B getaway.
