Our wedding reception at La Mer/Pier House this November was the best day of our lives, and the team made it all feel easy. Kristina showed us the venue several times while we were booking. She was warm, welcoming, patient, and professional, which made us confident in the choice. Gab was a dream to work with during planning. She was responsive, thoughtful about every detail, sweet, and calming. On the wedding day, she and the team went beyond what we expected. Seeing the reception room for the first time took our breath away, it was even more beautiful than we'd imagined. The recommended vendors we used were all exceptional too. We're so grateful to Gab for helping make the day smooth and magical. We couldn't recommend La Mer/Pier House more. Five stars!

The room and view were excellent, but the service fell short of what we'd hoped for. Our group got $25 restaurant vouchers, but we didn't. When we asked, they said to come back the next day because ours would be ready. The next day they said we weren't getting one after all. We went to dinner at the hotel restaurant with our friends anyway, but the first two entrees we ordered were unavailable. The food we eventually got was quite good. Late checkout was another hassle. We were told it would be fine if we confirmed on departure morning. We did, then kept receiving texts saying we had to check out. The front desk assured me by phone it was all okay, but more messages came, including one saying we had only 30 minutes to leave. The mixed messages and lack of follow-through were frustrating, especially off-season, when you'd expect more flexibility. We enjoyed the room, but the overall service wasn't what we hoped for.

The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, and parking was easy with plenty of spaces. The property is near the beach and close to all our favorite Cape May spots. We didn't use the pool, but it looked well kept and very nice. We took an Uber to the Washington Street shops, where there was lots to explore and plenty of places to eat.

We stayed off-season, so it was quiet and affordable, and the staff were courteous. The room was clean and comfortable, with a comfy bed and lots of pillows. My only complaint is the TV remote. It was so worn that we couldn't make out the buttons, which was frustrating.

The grounds looked lovely, and there was plenty of parking. We had a family get-together here on 11/8/2025, and the hotel was bright, updated, and very clean. I’m a germ freak, so seeing staff cleaning all the time was reassuring. The bartender, a nice young guy with dark hair and five o’clock shadow, served us around 3:30 and again later that evening. He was really attentive, and the drinks were great. Breakfast and dinner were both very good, with great service. Great hotel!
