Motel 6 Harrisburg - Carlisle

I’ve stayed at this Motel 6 every Friday of Thanksgiving weekend for business since 2011, apart from 2012 and 2013. The rooms have always been basic, but clean and comfortable for this kind of motel. This year, though, I was put in a wheelchair-accessible room and had no hot water in the shower at 5:30am before my event. I let it run while brushing my teeth and laying out clothes, packed what I could, and even tried again after getting dressed. After 10-15 minutes it was still ice cold. The sink had plenty of hot water, so I had to wash at the sink instead. I’ll still use the motel because the price is reasonable and it’s only about 2 miles from the venue. It’s what I expect for a basic overnight stay, and it saves me from getting up at 3am Saturday to drive to Carlisle.

We had a great stay, and the room worked well for what we needed: a place to sleep and shower. It was spacious and clean, with a table, two chairs, and a TV. The rooms are basic, without stuffed chairs, but we didn’t hear noise from neighbors or outside. The front desk staff were very nice and informative. My only small complaint is that the bathroom fan was a little noisy.

The front desk staff are amazing, and the pool is kept pristine. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly. I spilled water and wiped it up with a room towel, and it came away virtually spotless. I also watched the cleaning staff spend about 20 minutes in a room. The AC was great, there was Dish TV, and it was very quiet, even during the day. This Motel 6 is excellent.

Calvin was amazing and tried to help with the fridge. The first one didn’t work, and neither did the replacement, so he offered to keep our things in the staff fridge. The pool was clean and much needed on a 97 deg day. It’s a simple motel, and our room was clean. We wished there were chairs outside the room, since we had to sit in the car for hours while our toddler slept. Overall, we had a good time, and the staff were very nice and helpful.
