Spark By Hilton Carlisle South

Kaleb, the General Manager, was one of the friendliest, most upbeat people I've met at a Hilton. He’s built a great team, and the front desk staff were wonderful too. The hotel has been renovated nicely into the Hilton brand. We'll be back because of Kaleb!

The nearby highway is easy to hear, especially every semi passing by, and the AC unit made such a loud grinding noise that I had to turn it off to sleep. The room was very dirty, particularly the bathroom, where the counter and floor hadn't been cleaned. There was also a very obvious repair and mismatched touch-up paint on the door. It looked as if someone had tried to break through it or something. I wouldn't stay here again, or probably at any Spark.

I was only here overnight to split up a drive and get some sleep. I'm military, so I'm used to putting up with all kinds of accommodations, but I did remember that I paid $100 for this. The coffee in the lobby was watery, the water never got very hot, and the AC/heat unit couldn't keep up. Cleaning missed details. Although the place is renovated, the older building still smelled strongly of smoke, and the quick-flip style made it feel lived-in instead of like a clean, sterile hotel.

The room was spotless, and the shower was really good. The staff were friendly and accommodating. This might be the nicest hotel I've stayed at in the Harrisburg area. Its location just off 81 is perfect, with a steakhouse next door and a diner across the street.
