Comfort Suites Carlsbad

The outdoor hot tub was a real treat at night, with stars overhead, though the pool was so cold that it clearly wasn't heated. We were about a 40-minute drive from the Carlsbad Visitor Center while visiting Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains NP. Our suite had plenty of space and was clean, and the service was great. The one thing that didn't work well for our family was the bathroom: in a suite for six, there was only one towel hook, and it was too high for the kids. We still enjoyed our two nights and would stay again.

Everything in the clean room worked, and even the toiletries had been folded into little flowers. The staff were really friendly, and there were fresh cookies and popcorn for guests in the evening. I was there around New Year's, so that might have been a holiday treat.

The suite had a large L-shaped couch that could sleep two, with a pull-out bed and a single lounger. The bathroom was bright, modern, clean, and free of water damage or mildew, with plenty of towels. They'd even made cute flowers out of tissues. Rooms were roomy and comfortable, and the staff were courteous. It cost a bit more, but was still cheaper than other area hotels, so it felt worth it.

We got a great sunrise view from our room, and the whole stay was wonderful. The room was clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and pillows. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful when we arrived, and the kids were happy to find milk, cookies, and popcorn. I'd definitely come back to the area and stay here again, especially with family.
