Carmel Bay View Inn

Room 403 had a great balcony view and a gas fireplace. The rooms are large and clean, the location is outstanding, and the bathroom has counter space and really hot water. Nice little touches too, like a nail file in the kit and outlets built into the lamps.

The service was excellent. We had a small room issue at first, but the staff responded quickly and sorted it out to our satisfaction. I really appreciated how kind and efficient they were. I brought my family here for a short trip to Carmel. The place felt comfortable, the location was great, and it was very quiet. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return.

A great deal for Carmel, especially with the location. All the food spots and attractions people show on TikTok and YouTube are an easy walk away, and the continental breakfast was amazing: eggs, bacon, toast, muffins and Danish, coffee, apple and orange juice, cereal, and yogurt. It saved me a lot of money in an expensive town. This works well for a couple, but not so well for a family. Families are on the third floor, with no views. We stayed one night with family, thankfully, since the bathroom door didn’t lock. There’s no USB charger, and the shower pressure is weak. It’s a good one- or two-day stay. Carmel by the sea is a unique town catering to older wine lovers and overpriced foodies. There’s not much for kids beyond the beach, which was full of flies and hard to enjoy.

We went to the beach one evening for sunset, and parked right outside our room. The place is close to restaurants and shops, and there’s a wonderful market just steps away with prepared deli food to take out. Our room was comfortable and very clean, and breakfast was good. We were here for two midweek nights in late October. The weather was superb and the area wasn’t crowded at all. The photos show the view from our balcony and a shot from the beach.
