Sandpiper Inn

The breakfast was the best part, with dishes prepared by hand and coffee, orange juice, milk, yogurt, and more for you to serve yourself. It's a cozy, home-like place, and the staff go out of their way to help you feel comfortable and at home. You can walk to the beach, and hear the waves crashing right from the front door. Definitely a romantic place to stay if you're in the area.

The neighborhood is unbelievably nice, and the beach is an easy walk away. It's also a simple walk into town, and a great spot for morning jogs. I'll miss being here. We loved the fireplaces, the fantastic breakfast, the welcoming common areas, and the comfortable rooms. The whole stay felt like being at home.

We paid the full price for five nights but only stayed four, at roughly $700-800 per night. It was Car Week, so I understand that prices were high. My husband tried breakfast and said it was decent, nothing to brag about. I came from the East Coast and didn't make it in time myself. The worst part was one morning when we were leaving for an auction around 10:30. People were still eating croissants and enjoying breakfast, so I asked the woman in the kitchen if we could have one. She simply told me, “You should have woken up earlier. We stopped serving breakfast.” I was speechless and walked away. It seemed ridiculous that, in the kitchen of such a pricey, rundown place, she wouldn't offer us some bread. Hospitality is dead at Sandpiper Inn. There are better options, and the staff were terrible.

You can see the ocean from here, and it's a two-minute walk to the water or about 20 minutes downtown. At night, I opened the windows, felt a light breeze, and could hear the waves while sleeping on what might be the softest bed I've ever used. That may have been the most comfortable night of sleep I've had. In the morning, delightful staff served an incredible breakfast of quiche and croissants. 10/10, I'd recommend it.
