Charleston Marriott Town Center

We came here after a major winter storm left our house without power, and chose the Marriott because it was convenient and advertised a pool and hot tub. With two little ones, we wanted something to keep them occupied, but on arrival we learned the pool was out of service, even though some sites still advertise it incorrectly. There's no microwave in the room, and the refrigerator didn't work. The rooms are extremely outdated. For the same price we could have stayed next door at Embassy, with a pool and free breakfast. Lesson learned, Marriott isn't what it used to be.

The hotel's interior needs an upgrade, and those issues don't change the level of service you get. The staff are phenomenal, from Brittany and Caleb at the front desk to the serving team. They make you feel like number one. Breakfast was delicious, and the brownies are pure happiness. I'll come back solely because of the staff.

I got a very good rate, and the updated room made this one of my better buys for the quality and location. Parking in the garage was $15. Cookie at the front desk was a very nice gentleman. There are lots of restaurants in the nearby downtown area.

I was glad to find Neccy Sheherd working when we stopped here again on our way to Kentucky. We first stayed overnight in August on the drive home to Virginia, and she was warm and friendly, treating everyone like family. The lobby was well kept, the front desk staff greeted us nicely, and our upper-floor room was spacious and very clean. The M Lounge had a nice spread of cheeses and snacks, plus a small hot meal of steak cubes and rice. Breakfast the next morning was incredible. We'll definitely stay here next time we're in the area.
