Courtyard Charleston Historic District

The room was spacious, nicely laid out, and very comfortable. The restaurant was a welcome convenience, serving breakfast and evening food and snacks during set hours, along with Starbucks coffee. Thanks to the front desk team for promptly helping us with the microwave. The location made getting around easy. Downtown restaurants were close, and the free DASH shuttle routes stop nearby. Many attractions are walkable, including the Charleston Visitor Center, Fort Sumter Visitor Center, the Aquarium, fountains, water-taxi stops, Rainbow Row, the French Quarter, and the market. Valet parking is available but costs extra; there are also several lots nearby, including one across the road.

Michelle has always been a great bartender, and I really enjoy her service. She looked after us when we went to the bar for dinner. Tiffany was great at check-in, too. She seemed to remember me from my last stay. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you stay here.

Jackie made our first Charleston trip feel special. She was kind to guests and coworkers, always smiling, and knew a lot about local restaurants and shops. Her helpfulness and Southern hospitality really moved us. We’ll come back to Charleston and stay at the Marriott again because of her.

The pillows were the biggest issue. All four were lumpy and uncomfortable, which wasn’t great when we were ready to call it a day. The room itself was clean, and the staff were very helpful. We liked the location, with King St, East Bay, the market, and lots of downtown restaurants and sights close by without needing to drive. We were out a lot, so didn’t spend much downtime in the room.
