Meeting Street Suites

We had a wonderful honeymoon here. The historic feel and private balcony were highlights, and we enjoyed breakfast outside in the open-air courtyard. The staff were friendly and helpful. We could walk to everything we wanted to see, so there was no need to drive. Construction next door was a little off-putting, though it was outside the hotel’s control, and I’m sure the work will be done soon. Looking forward to coming back.

We spent a lovely weekend here and could walk almost everywhere from this central spot. The courtyard and fountains were lovely. Breakfast was served in the morning, wine and cheese at happy hour, and milk and cookies at night. The rooms were spacious, if a little old, but we had no major problems.

The bed was comfortable, and the spacious room opened onto a courtyard that brought old Charleston to mind. The doorman was sweet and polite, with just enough charm to make me want to return. Amenities were thoughtful and memorable. Continental breakfast varied a little each day, which I enjoyed, especially the crispy bacon. At 5 o’clock, wine hour had three wines, beer, cheese, grapes, strawberries, olives, crackers, and my favorite, pickled okra. Then at 8, there was milk and cookies, and the chocolate chip cookies were the best.

The service really made this stay. Every front desk person we met was wonderful, and there were at least four of them, plus other staff setting out breakfast, wine and cheese at 5, and evening cookies with milk and hot chocolate. My cousin fell on a Charleston sidewalk, and someone even ran to get her bandages and Neosporin. We felt genuinely welcome. The room was great too. The hotel is older, but cared for, full of Southern charm, and in a great spot.
