Hilton Charlotte University Place

I’ve stayed here twice for chess tournaments run by the Charlotte Chess Center, and the late checkout policy has been really frustrating. I've never been allowed even an extra hour, although I was willing to pay the late checkout fee. They always say the hotel is fully booked, but then offer to extend my stay if I pay for another day. I don't understand how that works if they're full. With no late checkout option, attending a multi-day event is inconvenient. Since this is the designated tournament hotel, I feel somewhat compelled to stay, but the lack of flexibility is disappointing.

Check-in was quick and smooth, and the front desk cashier was helpful and friendly. There was plenty of parking, and the location felt convenient and safe. The building's view was especially relaxing, and our room was comfortable. Hilton Charlotte University Place is a beautiful, very clean hotel. We had a pleasant stay and would come back or recommend it to others visiting the area.

The fitness room was tidy, had plenty of towels and water, and all the machines worked well. Housekeeping clearly pays attention to the details, too. Our double room was clean and comfortable, everything worked, and I was glad the Crab tree and Evelyn toiletries were fully stocked. I'm easy to please, but I appreciated that. Thanks, I enjoyed my stay.

Iris was our server and took great care of us, and the breakfast was delicious. The room was very clean and the service was great. There's a good selection of shops and restaurants within walking distance, too. We’ll definitely be back.
