Comfort Inn & Suites Chattanooga West - Lookout Mountain

The front desk attendant was very nice about it, and the owner called to apologize and let me know a refund was coming. We didn’t take the offered room change and went elsewhere instead. The room was filthy: a bug on the floor, bits of toilet paper left behind, a sticky table, hair and other stuff between the mattress and headboard, and a strong perfume or coverup smell. Also, the hotel shares a parking lot with the Howard Johnson. There weren’t people hanging around here, but there were several groups next door, with people barbecuing outside their room doors.

I don’t get the 5 star reviews. The hallway smelled like weed, and our room had bugs all over the window and smelled bad. We couldn’t stay, so we asked to cancel, and the staff were nice about it. We drove 10 minutes to a Home2suites by Hilton, which was much cleaner and better for the same price.

There were bugs in the first room, along with paint peeling off the doors, dried blood on the cover, and something old splattered on the wall. Tina at the front desk had an attitude as soon as we arrived and basically called me a liar, saying, “I doubt that,” when I mentioned the bugs. She moved us to another room, but that one had bugs too. This is a 2 star hotel at best.

There were bugs in the room. When I told the front desk, they said they were just ladybugs, but I’m pretty sure bugs aren’t supposed to come with a room. After some back and forth, I got a different room.
