Fairfield Inn & Suites Chattanooga I-24/Lookout Mountain

The staff were pleasant, and being close to the highway was convenient, but the traffic noise went on all night. It sounded like the highway had turned into a parking lot, with cars and trucks constantly passing. The walls were thin too, and our neighbor was clearly upset with someone and using some choice words. We left the TV on morning and evening to cover some of the noise. We were in town with friends for a short visit to lookout mountain and ruby falls, and to let the kids enjoy the surrounding nature. The dated mattress felt like I was sinking to the floor. It could do for one night to freshen up during a long drive, but I'll find somewhere else for a longer stay.

A really comfortable stop for our family of five on the drive south. We had a double queen room with a pullout sleeper sofa. The oatmeal station had lots of toppings, and the coffee was strong and easily the best I've had at a hotel. Finally, coffee that isn't watered down! ☺️ Shannon did a good job keeping the breakfast buffet filled.

The rooms were somewhat dated, but we had no accommodation problems. The rest of the staff were great, and across the brand I've usually found people professional, from the Caribbean to California. We're just two stays away from Ambassador Elite. Breakfast was mediocre, and the person in charge, whom we dubbed Ms. Fairfield because she apparently owns the brand, was rude to guests on both mornings, the day before and the day after Thanksgiving. She spoke badly about people to staff and other guests within earshot, and even interrupted diners mid-bite to yell about the toaster. There were rules for everything, and she shouted across the room for us to leave when breakfast was over. There's a more professional way to handle that. Skip breakfast if you can, unless you want Ms. Fairfield, the drill instructor, telling you how and when to eat and to sit up straight.

During my one-night stay, my car was broken into, along with three other people's vehicles. About $1,500 worth of outdoor recreation gear was taken. The thief appeared to have gone through my belongings carefully and selected what to steal, and the other affected guests noticed the same thing. The front desk said they had no camera footage of it. I'd think twice about staying here. At the very least, remove all your belongings before parking, or leave the car unlocked.
