Super 8 by Wyndham Chattanooga Lookout Mountain TN

The staff at the front desk were friendly and quick to help, and the place was quiet with very little road noise. We paid $64 a night for a double-bed room, so this review is just about that room type. The room was clean with fresh sheets, and housekeeping was available. The bathroom worked fine, including the older hairdryer, and the heater kept us warm during our late-November visit. There was a nice mountain view from our second-floor room, and the three-story inn sits a little above road level, so it’s easy to get to. A Waffle House and two other inns are close by. MAPCO and Circle K are about a 6-7 minute walk for water or snacks, and Walmart Supercenter is roughly 11-12 minutes away on foot, uphill but handy for groceries and other things. It was good value for the price, though the building and rooms are old despite being clean. Our double room felt a little cramped. The breakfast area is tiny and gets crowded in the morning, and breakfast itself has limited choices. The orange juice tasted off. Room 220 had a phone that didn’t work, so it’s worth checking. In heavy rain, water can run downhill toward the road.

The breakfast was included and had a nice range of things, and the staff were always friendly and ready to help. Our room was clean and well cared for, and it looked like the motel had been updated recently. We got good value for what we paid and had a very pleasant stay at Super 8 by Wyndham Chattanooga. We’d gladly come back and recommend it.

It was a quiet, hassle-free stay, and the room, carpet, walls, bathroom, and linens all looked clean. There was a noticeable floral deodorizer or air freshener smell at first, though it wasn’t overpowering and I stopped noticing it after a while. I would have liked the parking area to be a bit brighter, but I had no trouble. I was on a motorcycle, and my bike was exactly as I’d left it in the morning.

We only stayed one night on our way home, and I wouldn’t come back or stay longer. We had two rooms, and one had an even worse old, musty mildew smell than the other. The carpet had large colorful stains, and the bed covers had several cigarette holes and stains. Breakfast was just a waffle maker with syrup, plus yogurt and coffee. It felt like nobody cared for the place. You get what you pay for.
