The Treetop Hideaways at Ruby Falls

The treehouse was a lovely place for a birthday weekend with our kids, ages 9 and 4. We had a bright moon at night, a beautiful sunrise, and used the well-equipped fire pit both evenings. The area around it has lights, though the short path could use more lighting after dark. We could hear some noise from the parking lot below, but the stay still felt private. We went hiking and had dinner out, with everything within a 15-minute drive. The little kitchen had a sink, microwave, and drink fridge, and they’d left wine and snacks, a thoughtful touch. I also liked that there was no TV, since I wanted to unplug. It was rustic, charming, and full of considerate details. I’m already looking forward to returning. For families, I wouldn’t recommend this cabin for toddlers. The ladder up to the loft is very steep, and the windows beside the upstairs beds would worry me with children under four, or with rambunctious kids at any age. We were okay after talking through safety with my wild 4-year-old, but had to keep reminding her to take care on the ladder.

We spent two nights in the "Redbud" treehouse and really enjoyed the stay. It was quiet, quaint, and lovely, and the service team answered our questions quickly. The outdoor tub was especially great in the middle of January.

Treetop Hideaways made for a perfect anniversary weekend. It felt quiet and quaint, almost as if we were far from civilization, even though some fantastic restaurants were only a short drive away. We’ll definitely return.

This is a charming, nicely decorated property in a great spot near downtown Chattanooga restaurants and shopping, and it has a lot of potential. The team tried to improve our stay, covered some of our dinner on arrival, and gave us a discount on the cleaning fee. Still, what we got didn’t match the website’s promises of comfortable, luxurious accommodations, especially for the price. We booked the Dogwood Treehouse last year for a birthday gathering with friends. Upstairs, the sheets and comforter were wadded up in a box, there was only one pillow for three guests, and the mattress pad on the pullout bed had several pee stains. When we asked about clean sheets, staff weren’t sure they could replace them. We said we’d have to cancel if the bedding couldn’t be cleaned, and were told we’d owe a cancellation fee. That didn’t seem fair, and thankfully we didn’t have to cancel. The team did change the bedding, but two more stained blankets were left on the upstairs single bed before they replaced those too. We were told to look for bedding in the laundry room or start a load with towels, but we couldn’t find a laundry room. There were only five disposable coffee cups for the ten we needed, and no stir sticks. The kettle’s button had to be rigged to stay down while it boiled, and it leaked. The record player, listed as a feature, had no needle. We also couldn’t find conditioner in the empty bathroom slot, and needed instructions for the shower controls. Two separate emails gave different checkout information, and a basic folder with property details, nearby places to eat and things to do, and checkout instructions would have helped. I wasn’t going to review this at first because I thought they’d done what they could at the time. But after offering us a night’s stay to make up for it, they didn’t return my calls when I tried to use it.
