Holiday Inn Express Chester by IHG

The room and property were nice, and the man who checked us in and the housekeepers were helpful. At breakfast, though, the desk staff downstairs were so caught up in their conversation that they didn’t greet anyone or check if guests needed anything. I’m low maintenance, but every guest deserves at least a hello.

The staff were nice, but room cleaning was awful. They took my old towels and left me none, and the sheets were dirty. There were bed bugs. I even tipped, and I’d never stay here again.

I meant to send feedback to IHG through the app, but couldn’t find a way, so I’m leaving it here. Things looked updated, but for the price the stay was way off. This comes down to management and training, especially at breakfast. The food looked like it had been sitting out, the tongs were pretty dirty, and the food staff were coughing, though not necessarily sick. There were dirty towels all over the counters by the food. The workers seemed more interested in loudly chatting with each other across the facility and with the front desk than keeping the area clean and presentable. They kept banging a broom and dustpan around diners while talking. It made me uncomfortable to have spent $160 at a place on the side of the highway. We choose HI Express because breakfast is supposed to make the next morning better.

Tressie was service with a smile. She handled all our requests promptly and professionally, and the experience with her was awesome. We’ll be back!
