The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the amenities: detergent, a washing machine, an iron, a dishwasher, a full-length mirror, nice soaps, good TV options, and coffee and tea. Getting answers to questions was easy, and they were very helpful. The area is well placed for sightseeing and feels local too. But the place felt a bit dirty for somewhere that charges a cleaning fee. I washed my own dishes because the utensils were dirty. The bathroom was beautiful but also a little dirty. A towel fell on the floor and got wet while I showered. When I swiped it up, it had turned grey from the floor! 😭 The booking site pictures show a view, but not every loft has one. My window looked straight at a wall. It's an okay place, you get what you pay for. Maybe I just got the cabin with these issues, though I saw another review with the same problems and it seemed to be the same unit.

I had a very pleasant four-day solo stay as a young woman and felt safe. In my opinion the neighborhood is generally safe, and it's next to a fire station. Nothing crazy went on here. Entry is contactless, you use a code to get in and out, including your room. I recommend booking directly through their website since that's the fastest way to get stay details by email and it's cheaper. My room was clean and ready by 3pm, with a bathroom in tiptop shape and no stains on the bed. Finding parking was easy at Spothero 1135 W Chicago Ave, though it'll cost you some $$. I was on the second floor, (207), and very occasionally heard the upstairs neighbors moving and thudding. Surprisingly, I didn't hear a peep from the NEXT door neighbors. If that bothers you, try earplugs or the top (3rd) floor. Highway noise wasn't bad, and the occasional siren didn't bother me much. The cta blue line and bus stops are right around the corner, so be sure to use them. The room came with a Roku tv, shampoo, body wash, conditioner, towels, microwave, fridge, kettle, washing machine + dryer, dishwasher, coffee maker, plates, utensils, dishsoap, handsoap, stovetop, and oven.
The listing photos are misleading. The actual unit was much more run-down and dirty, with dirty walls and an unsanitary shower. During a holiday weekend I had to book somewhere else at the last minute. I didn't even want to sleep there.
The place is clean, modern, and great, so I'm not sure why it has such a low rating here. It had everything we needed for an Airbnb, including a fully equipped kitchen, washer, dryer, and coffee maker. We really enjoyed our stay, and the host was quite responsive while we were there. It's a great base for exploring Chicago, with the blue line station and bus stops only 3 minutes away. One thing to know if you're arriving from the airport with bigger luggage: I don't recommend getting off at Chicago station because it has no elevator service.
Getting around was easy since the building is just around the corner from the blue line train and bus. A bodega, liquor store, coffee shop, and several restaurants are also within walking distance. We liked Mean-Eyed Pie, Sushi X, and Big Shoulders Coffee. The property managers and concierge answered quickly before and during our stay, and the cost felt worthwhile. I look forward to coming back. We stayed in Cabin 307 and had a great experience. It was quiet, and our clean room had everything we needed, including a stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, and spacious bathroom.
