The room’s blackout shade did a good job blocking outside light, which I appreciated. Breakfast was standard, and the sneeze guard over the trays was welcome, though the lids wouldn’t stay open while serving yourself, so you needed both hands. The first cup I got from the coffee dispenser was full of grounds. I also ended up putting a towel under the door to keep light from coming in, one of those annoying hotel door issues. There was a sharp mechanical squeal from the door closer when I first entered. It scrapes across the top of the door, and the wear I could see made it look like this had been going on for a while. When I told the desk staff, they chuckled and said, “Yeah,” as if it was familiar. The room echoes quickly, and I could hear every stomp from upstairs as well as toilets flushing. With the highway and active industrial railway nearby, the hotel really should have done more soundproofing. The bathroom lighting wasn’t great for seeing your face. The desk setup was odd, too. The lamp seemed more suited to European power needs than a deep US west application. The nearest outlet was over three feet away unless you used the lamp’s USB-A port or the USB-A ports under the TV, also more than three feet off. There was no instruction for turning on the lamp, and I found the symbol on its base by chance when I touched it. The USB-A charging port by the bed was broken, so I couldn’t use it.

The staff were courteous and professional, and the location was very convenient. But the hotel is beside an active railroad crossing, and trains came through several times after midnight, often sounding their horns. That made the stay much less comfortable. The property also feels dated and needs updates or renovation.

The breakfast had a good variety, and the place was clean. The employees were great and made us feel welcome. We only stayed one night, though it was a bit expensive. Our room had a couple of maintenance issues: the AC kept us awake, and we only got one towel each, though I could have asked for more. The two pillows were so soft that our heads sank down to the mattress, and my husband and I both woke up with stiff necks. Still, it’s a nice place, and I’d give it another chance. Now I know what’s provided, I may ask for certain things at check-in.

It was perfectly fine for a one-night stop while we were passing through on a road trip. The only issue was the AC unit, which was so loud it sounded damaged, so we turned it off. We arrived late and there wasn't anyone at the front desk when we dropped off the key, so I couldn't mention it. Frustrating, but we were only there for the night.

The bathroom floor was dirty, and the place wasn’t maintained. They also charged a $13.60 environmental initiatives fee that wasn’t shown on the booking site. This used to be a really nice property, but now it’s just okay at best.
