Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Cincinnati - Eastgate by IHG

I’ve been coming here for 10 years, and the staff have always been great. The food is good too, but I’ve gradually started staying at other hotels because this place is getting kind of nasty. The carpet all over is stained and looks filthy, and the old furniture and TVs make everything feel dated. Room 201 smelled so bad that I asked to move. They redid the sixth-floor bathrooms, but there’s nowhere to hang towels to dry or put soap in the shower. This place could be much better, and I think it’s overpriced for what it is.

The staff refused to move us or offer any help, even after we carefully found, caught, and brought a bug to the front desk. They wouldn’t acknowledge that it was a bedbug. Earlier that night, several of us woke up with itchy, blister-like bites, and the desk had assured us there were no bedbugs in the room. We were staying here because a kitchen fire had forced us out of our home, and this became the worst overnight stay we’ve ever had. With no solution and no concern for our family’s safety or that of nearby guests, we packed very carefully to avoid carrying bedbugs to our next hotel, checked out right away, and will never return. The lack of accountability and help over a serious health concern was unacceptable. I strongly caution others before staying here.

The bed was comfy, and breakfast was good. The staff were friendly, too. But the rooms are really dated. The carpet was stained, the tub was so discolored I didn’t want to shower in it, and there was a big burn mark on the desk that should’ve been thrown out. The air turning on and off was so loud it kept waking me up.

The lobby looked nice, with a fountain, and there was a restaurant attached. The rooms were decent, but there was hair along the bathroom walls, and one bed had broken box springs, so we rolled toward the middle. Still, it was a nice place overall.
