Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta/Buckhead Area

The booking site gave a misleading picture of the property. What was advertised didn't match what we found, and I felt misled and disgusted by the time we left. I booked two nights for my family, expecting a clean, safe place. As soon as I got out of the car, the strong smell of marijuana hit us, and there were apparent signs of drug use in plain view. With my family there, that was deeply disturbing and unacceptable. The place felt neglected, unsafe, and unsuitable for a family. I didn't see real concern for guest safety, comfort, or honest representation. I was disappointed, frustrated, and angry, and wouldn't trust this hotel to meet basic standards of cleanliness, safety, or professionalism. Definitely not a family environment, especially for kids or teens. I would never recommend it to anyone, particularly families. The five-star posts seem fraudulent and misleading.

The breakfast was pretty sad, though the prices are reasonable enough that I can live with that. We got a free upgrade after moving rooms, but a bag of our things went missing, mostly dirty laundry along with some personal items. Nobody we spoke to on staff knew anything about it, so we'll keep a closer eye on our belongings next time. The manager and the rest of the house staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were nice. There's plenty to do nearby, with clubs and places to eat. We're Wyndham Diamond members and used a few free nights here. We'll be back.

The staff were accommodating when our two-night stay turned into three after we missed a flight. It’s a simple hotel with limited amenities, but the price makes it well worth it, and the location by the highway worked for us. The basic rooms don’t have microwaves, and the elevator stopped working one morning so we had to use the stairs. One tip: rooms at the back look out on trees and a creek.

The hotel was quiet, which I appreciated, but I won't stay here again. There were questionable people coming and going at night, and the parking lot is small. They say they prevent others from parking there or tow them, but that didn't seem to be the case. Breakfast was just pancakes, bagels, bread, and yogurt, and the coffee and creamer had run out. I was there for three work-trip nights. My room smelled strongly musty and was kind of small, though I was willing to put up with that. After work, I found the fridge wasn't working. The man at the desk quickly offered another room to check, but it was much worse, with red-orange stains all over the bed that made me uncomfortable. I went back to my original room.
