Howard Johnson by Wyndham Clarksville Tennessee

I’m not going back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place. The room was poorly cleaned: the floor was sticky and so filthy that even after washing our feet several times, a black, gluey substance was still there. There was lots of hair on the dirty bedsheets when we arrived. When we checked out and told the front desk, the woman didn’t seem bothered at all. She just said okay.

The staff were kind, and they had breakfast ready to take with you. Amazing!

The assistant manager Jodie was accommodating and made sure we were comfortable during our stay in clarksville. We had a wonderful visit for a great price. The room was clean, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I’d happily recommend the hotel, and we’ll stay here again.

The person who checked us in was helpful and there were no problems with him. But I’ve stayed in hotels about 150 days a year, and none have asked to take and copy both my and my spouse’s IDs. That didn’t feel right. What if my spouse had left her wallet at home? Would she be unable to stay? The rooms look like they’ve been remodeled, which is a good start, but there’s more to fix. My TV was leaning like it might fall over, and housekeeping should take more care to avoid leaving stray hairs. It seemed like they might be using the same towel to clean the bathroom and the rest of the room, which is not okay. The lobby, check-in space, and food area need a major overhaul. There wasn’t much breakfast, it looked pitiful, and the containers looked dirty, like they’re never washed between uses. You wouldn’t put fresh food on the same dirty plate at home every day. The entrance from the street is rough, the building needs a facelift, and the ice machine was broken. The manager said a replacement had been ordered and was due that day, so hopefully that happened. Howard Johnson used to be a good hotel chain everyone knew. What happened?
