TownePlace Suites by Marriott Clarksville

We stopped here on a drive from Florida to Illinois with our dog, and it’s a great option if you’re traveling through. The hotel was clean, and our room had a kitchenette with a stove, desk, and couch. There are grassy areas behind and around the property for potty breaks, and the main road has lots of food, coffee, and gas options, which was convenient. After a long day driving, we ate at Kyoto. The food was fresh and delicious.

The rooms and property are very dated, the bedding is old and awful, and the hallways smell like smoke. People are smoking in their rooms. There were dirty dishes in ours, and the bathroom vent didn’t work. Come on, Marriott. The hotel owner needs to do better.

Some of the staff were nice, while others acted like our being there was a bother. The bed was way too soft, and the hotel needs updates. It was an okay stay, but it won’t be high on our list next time we’re back. Sadly, I’m starting to see this at more and more Marriott properties. They used to be the best, in my opinion. Now it’s just another option.

The staff were friendly, and the rooms were decent, with a nice-sized closet that helped keep things organized for a longer stay. There’s also a kitchenette. I’m sure the sink water is potable, but the water provided for the in-room drip coffee maker costs $5 per bottle. Lobby coffee is only available during breakfast. The facility needs some repairs. Both the fridge and shower head leaked, so we put towels under them to keep the floor from getting wet and muffle the dripping. The bathroom fan was broken too.
